Renovation bin loading tips.
Good loading is not about squeezing in one last piece. It is about using the container efficiently while keeping the load stable and transportable.
Start with flat, sturdy material
Where safe, place flat panels and cut lumber so they do not create large empty pockets. Do not build a platform that hides prohibited or heavy material underneath.
Break down bulky pieces
Cabinet boxes, shelving and cardboard take less room when dismantled. Use appropriate tools and personal protective equipment, and keep nails and sharp edges contained.
Distribute weight
Avoid placing all dense debris at one end. If concrete, tile, soil or shingles are involved, confirm the loading plan before the job begins.
Respect the top rail
Material should remain within the container walls and below the stated fill line. Objects above the rim can make the load unsafe or impossible to haul.
Keep the pickup route open
Do not stack leftovers around the bin or park equipment in front of it. The driver needs clear access to retrieve a full container.
